Desarraigar el castigo y sembrar comunidad is an experimental publication that dissects the Prison Industrial Complex (PIC) as a control apparatus rooted in the logics of slavery and capital. The project articulates a critical genealogy linking historical surveillance to contemporary abolitionist resistance, integrating foundational voices from anti-carceral thought.
The editorial design operates as a metaphor for the carceral system, using the geometric decomposition of the image to denounce the dehumanization and erasure of identity inflicted upon bodies subjected to punishment. As the reading progresses, this visual saturation shifts toward light, suggesting the possibility of other social horizons. The edition incorporates mechanically opening folds that release hidden messages, functioning as visceral interruptions against the publication's theoretical rigor. The system is completed by infographics designed to visually translate the economic and political architecture of the privatization of punishment.
